“A FRESH MARKET” OPENS ON FIRE ISLAND FEATURING CITARELLA

Pines Commercial Properties, based in Fire Island, New York, will open A Fresh Market featuring a full line of Citarella products in Spring, 2007

NEW YORK CITY, (March 30, 2007) – A FRESH MARKET, a new upscale food market, will open this spring in the new Pavilion Building at the harbor of Fire Island Pines. Citarella, based in New York with stores also in the Hamptons, will provide product to A FRESH MARKET.

Best known for its fresh fish and meat as well as premium packaged foods, Citarella will now have its products available in Fire Island Pines and will service the Pines, the Grove and Water Island communities and beyond.

Eric von Kuersteiner, President of Pines Commercial Properties, said of A FRESH MARKET, “We are really excited about the opportunity to offer additional shopping opportunities to the residents of the Pines and Fire Island as a whole. We are thrilled that Citarella has joined us, and we look forward to offering complementary products to what is already available in the Pines.”

A FRESH MARKET will offer a range of Citarella products including fish and meats, prepared foods, baked goods and gourmet items.

Eric Von Kuersteiner kept Pines residents guessing what would replace the legendary Pavilion, when it was taken down at the end of the 2006 season. “What started as small renovation turned massive. We started removing the walls and discovered the building was in disrepair,” Eric said. Regarding A FRESH MARKET, Eric said, “We’ve seen a shift in our community in the last several years; I wanted to keep up with the demand and fill the void.” Eric continued, “Why Citarella? Just walk through any of the several locations in New York and you’ll see that the high standard that Citarella represents is the same standard the Pines has come to expect, so it’s a perfect match.”

Regarding what other uses will be at the new Pavilion, Eric said, “We are working out the plans now, which will be amazing, and will certainly keep you posted.”

A FRESH MARKET is designed by Mark Ski, who will also be in charge of purchasing, day-to-day operations and available to help patrons with menu planning and cooking techniques. Mark was the executive chef for “God’s Love We Deliver,” he is a James Beard Award winner, and he is a three-time Emmy Award winning producer for “Martha Stewart Living”.
